Manfred (Manny) Perera

Founding attorney

Manny Perera focuses his practice on technology transactions, data privacy and artificial intelligence governance. He spent more than a decade as an in-house legal executive at Fortune 500 media companies after practicing at international law firms, and he has a track record of securing highly sensitive data and architecting enterprise-wide technology risk programs.

He advises public entities, school districts and enterprise clients on mission-critical technology infrastructure, SaaS agreements, cybersecurity and vendor risk management, and has worked through data privacy and regulatory frameworks across media and entertainment, education, healthcare, retail and high tech. He also handles incident-response readiness, complex commercial joint ventures and cross-border technology deployments.

Most recently he served as Vice President, Technology Legal and AI Governance at Fox Corporation, where he was lead counsel for a $2 billion technology and infrastructure ecosystem and built the company's enterprise AI legal governance program, including responsible AI policies, data-rights boundaries and vendor risk frameworks. Before Fox he was Senior Counsel at Warner Bros. Entertainment, directing legal strategy for a $100 million-plus managed services and IT outsourcing portfolio. Earlier he practiced corporate and technology law at Allen Matkins, Akin Gump and Foley & Lardner, and managed large-scale software implementations at Accenture.

He is a graduate of the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings), where he served on the executive board of the Hastings Business Law Journal, and holds a B.S. in Finance, Real Estate and Law from Cal Poly Pomona. A native of Costa Rica, he is fluent in Spanish and has negotiated complex cross-border transactions in the language. He lives in the Pasadena area with his family.
